How big of a tank will i need to keep one of these? I heard that they are smaller than regular dempseys.
You can put one in a 40 long. Do you only want one fish?

IMO a 48" x 12" footprint minimum when full grown.

40 long has the same footprint as the 55. They are a lot easyer to water changes on if you stack them.
They are 48x12x16 instead of 48x12x21. I do not apove of the 40 breeder tank. 36x18x12 or 16 not sure on the height.

How long would I be able to keep one in a 30g? My brother might breed them, and he might give me one to raise.

I had mine in my 33 gal for about 8 months. She could have stayed in there longer but she started to grow much faster when I put her in my 65 Gal.
