hi everybody!

i just finished my parents 150-160 gallon tank. everythin is ready for the fish, the tank is cycled, its all perfect. i have a diy wet/dry filter with 120 pot scrubbers, intense mechanical filtration, and a sponge filter.

i will be going to the LFS on Saturday get the GOLDFISH.

HOW many small-medium goldfish should i buy?
they plan on keeping these fish till they're huge, so keep that in mind.

yeah, 5-6.

they'll grow really fast with that much room.

Shrug. I'd personally put at least 8 in there... You have the room and the filtration.

There is a lot of overall room, and the more overall room you can reduce the space per fish (to a point). 80l per fish is heaps in a big tank with good filtration. Goldfish actually seem to like to bunch together and rub against each other. I think they are one of the great social fish out there. Even in a big tank they will hang together in a corner (not that they will be crowded at all in a big tank like that).

Filtration is the key and as long as the parameters are good, and the water changes are kept up, the fish will do well.

The smart move would be to get a few fish to start and then build to a nice stocking level.

would you recomend any other fish?

i have till the 7th to decide. my LFS closed friday for the holidays.

they would also be open to a community tank, so if you have any suggestions please post them here.

fancies: 6-7
comets: 3-4

for other fish, a small group of dojo loaches would be neat.
