I'm moving very soon. I have 2 male beta that I need to transport. I'm not moving extremely far.... I was wondering what would be the best way to transport them. Any ideas would be helpful

If they are in under 5 gallons each, I would just load 'em up and put them on the seat next to you in the car while you're driving or, if you can, have someone secure them by just holding them between their legs, etc. If they're in anay more than that, I would empty out half the water ( to make them lighter and easier to transport ) and do as stated above. It's pretty straightforward. Bettas are very hardy fish and since you are not moving that far, it shouldn't really be that much of an issue.

this will work,or you could try putting them in bags(half full) in a cooler, make sure there isnt enough room for the bags to move.
how long should the trip take?

Don't feed them for a day or two prior to the move. Then you can ship them the way everybody else does, in a small cup or double-bagged in little plastic baggies. Keep them in the dark to keep them calm, and buffer them (pad them in bubblewrap or some such) to keep them from jostling too much. If you're planning on taking several days to make the trip (driving etc.) you can take them out and put them in bowls when you stop if you feel the need to. A betta can live in a small bag for up to 3 weeks without food/o2 circulation. Not that you should do that, but for 2-3 days there shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure to get fish bags from your LFS (just ask for a couple) because regular ziploc bags can contain chemicals that will leach into water.
