Fluctuating Temperature

I have a 25W submersible heater in a 5.5G tank that seems to have trouble maintaining a stable temperature. When the room temperature drops, so does the water, and vice versa. Can I remedy this by getting a higher quality/more powerful heater, or should I just do my best to maintain a stable room temperature (the former would be much much easier, of course)?

Most folks will say 5 watts per gallon. I personally have a 50 watt heater (it was cheaper than a 25 watt) in my 5.5 gallon and it maintains a stable temperature.

i agree 100% with webcricket. your heater just isnt able to keep up with the lower temps.
