Will they increase the ammonia level in a tank?
Been cycling for many weeks....after what seems a never ending change to nitrites decided to try and kill some time starting last week with some plants getting it ready....after a week a few plants one species ( sorry dont remember name) is losing all their leaves and rotting. Figure it just hates super high nitrite. But now, the last three days I dont need to place ammonia in tank its not dropping to zero after 24 hours...like it used too....since nothing else has changed I am thinking it has to be dying plants (have now taken them out). But today I now see my nitrites are now dropping still with high ammonia.....please tell me it wasnt possible for plants to kill ammonia producing bacteria so now am slowly starving off nitrite.
