so i just got a refractometer, and apon reading all the callibration jarble, i gots myself an idea.


can i callibrate my refractometer against an already callibrated one? i.e. goin to my lfs, put the same water on both, and callibrate mine to read the same as theirs?
 
If theirs is 'off' - yours would be too. Better to prepare a standard solution, calibrate, don't drop.
 
i just use RO/DI water to calibrate mine. that is pretty much pure water and i dont want to spend tons of money for solution or distille my own.
it probably wont be perfect, but itll be close enough so you couldnt even tell.
