Hi, I have 3 fish with fungus I have them in a quarantine tank for about 4 days now they have fungus I was wondering how long should I keep them in there?

What is the direction given by the medication being used?

A little help here...what are you treating for? What are you treating with? What size tank? What kind of fish?

The idea of a quarantine tank is to leave the fish in there until you are sure they are healthy. Sometimes the obvious answers can be so obscured :)

Keep an eye on them and watch for improvement but keep them quarantined until you're sure they're healthy. It would be helpful to know what you are treating with. Some "fungus" infections are not fungus at all but instead bacterial infections. Some medications treat both, some only one or the other.

Well sorry I wasnt clear I have 1 tainted glass fish and tiger barb they have white cotton like puffs on them that look like cotton balls after doing some research it's some sort of fungus i am treating them with lifegaurd used 2 treat various infection I wasnt sure if I should leave them inside that cloudy water for that long that is why I asked I am doing the water change but its still pretty cloudy also I have a 39 gallon tank and have them inside of a 10 gallon tank with just the fish and rocks nothing else thanks for your help I have had my tank about 6 months and had some really horrible expiriences 2 where I had ick and all the fish died due 2 me having them for a short period of time. Thats why I dont want 2 lose anymore fish I think I will give up them :(

No need to apologize sandrita, it takes some time to get use to what info is relevant to what question. In general, you can't offer too much info about your tank :)

Fungus is not very resistant to medicines. If you've treated it and it hasn't improved, I would think about Columnaris bacteria being the possible culprit. It sounds like the infections are minimal, likely caused be the fish running into something and the fungus/bacteria has invaded the wounds. One of the best things you can do is make sure the water is 'healthy' for them. If the tank isn't cycled, I would suggest daily water changes. This may require daily dosing of the medicine, which means you want to be sure the medicine doesn't build up. So, be sure to do large water changes, at least 50% of the water.
