This tank has been up for about 6 months. I loved the rock when it was light colored but it has darkened bright green algae grows flat on it.

Anything I can do about it or is it "just nature". Tank doesn't get a lot of natural light. Lights are on for 3, off for 5 and on for 7.

I think it looks good on the rocks

Agreed. I think it looks like you meant to have it there.

The rocks are buried and glued to small tiles so they can't be dug out by the fish so I can't flip them.

Most of you say it's good, but one person said it's bacteria.

That's scary. Any more info on that?

Have you checked the nitrates lately? Weed will grow on a rock if you put it in water on a brightly lit window. It grows even better with nitrate.

Thanks. I hadn't tested Nitrate is awhile. I did a 25% water change last night before I read your post about nitrate. I just tested and it is about 15.

I think I overfeed. Also, I only clean my Aquaclears once every 6 weeks by swishing the foam in water from the tank. Should I do that more often?

Don't think I am nuts but I am a newbie still so took a photo of what I feed, twice per day!

Thanks for having a look. Oh, I have 7 saulosi in this tank. 5 are 1 1/2 inches, 2 are close to 3 inches. Tank is 37 gallons, run 2 Aqua Clear 50's.
