Dagnabit.... That's not fair... I've been a good working chef over the last 12 years, building my craft and teaching a love of good food to all and sundry. How in the name of three fingered Ghu am I supposed to be taken seriously when my pork products are freaking flourescent green? Mmmm, that's good, except for the stinging jellyfish neurotoxin! Did'nt we get enough of this with the blue harvest corn disaster?

I make it a practice to avoid green meat. Me thinks I will continue to do so.
I'd like to know exactly what the point is.

Oh, thought you realized... here's the point. China has done this, and can now track these special pigs as a way of controlling their domestic meat market. Once these guys are farmed by all state approved farms, you can identify any imported, black market, or stolen chinese pork by waving a UV light over it and sees if it glows green. Conversely, if they wish to use it only for export, then all farms that are certified, or tax breaked for export use only have to use only these pigs, and the chinese goverenment can track usery. It's kinda big brother controlling supply.

Think of it just like a cattle brand. Only with genetic engineering and results that don't show up for 30 or 500 generations.
