hi guys I am new with this stuff, yesturday I went to buy a bottle of live marine phytoplankton DT's, but when I open it, stunk up all my house, it smells like roten eggs...any ideas guys?
I bought some phytoplankton from the LFS, and the staff told me to place it in the tank for 30 min and then release it. but after about 20 it settled on the bottom and the water went clear. also it went more of a darker green. so didn't dare open It. i chucked it in the garbage.
I thought I answered you before but it was someone else ... phytoplankton should smell like fresh dirt. If it smells like rotten eggs either return it to the LFS for replacement or throw it out. Phytoplankton are living organisms that do die--if it smells like rotten eggs it's because they are rotting. Do not add this to your tank under any circumstance! YUCK
