I use those qiuck dip multi test strips and the seachem ph meter that suction cups to the side of the tank. The seachem ph meter reads 7.0 while the test strips read 6.4 ph. Which one should I trust?

THANKS! :)

I'd trust the pH meter, though I've never used one myself. Test strips are notoriously inaccurate. Get a test kit that uses liquid reagents, like the API Freshwater Master Test Kit.

Never trust or use test strips. They are inaccurate.

I use the API Master test kit which covers all your basic water parameters (h/l ph, ammonia, NO2 and NO3) and I have found it to be the most accurate. You can find this kit online or at your lFS or petsmart etc...

I don't know about the ph meter...I have never used one but I image it's better than the test strips for sure so I would trust that reading over the other to answer your question.

yeah, test strips are pretty much a waste of money to be frank, because you can get a liqiud kit for a little more, and they are far more accurate. i'd trust the pH meter more than the reading from the strip.

I have been testing the different test strips and dont find any accuracy at all. One test strip will test out 8.4 ph, but the actualy liquid test will show 7.5, amonia is usually always off on the strips too.

I just bought a ph, and ammonia test meter that sticks on the inside. So far pretty reliable. It took about 1hr to get the reading and its stayed accurate for three weeks so far
