do they get out the metals like they say
my tap water is from a well but has some chloramine added to it but allso has lots of iron turns shower orange i have a filter on the sink but not sure what in takes out
so i use bottled water for the fish a bout $1 a gallon

what i do is just let water sit out for at least 24 hours and our water is already pretty good(we tested it) but most chemicals will rise out

but not heavy metals in the water like the iron i think there is some arsnic too but you think that will come out

Do a set of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, GH/KH tests on your tap water, before and after the filter. In most cases, there will not be a problem using it.

You will need to be using a water conditioner like Prime to handle the chloramine issue. Leaving it set out will not make it go away.
