I'm not convinced about the adding dechlor to the water and not treating the whole tank I have smelly chlorine tap water i'm worried if a flow just goes into my tank it will kill my fish first. How do you use yours?
The bucket thing with a 55 gallon is getting hard I was trying to do two things at once today and my gravel vac tube got a mind of it's own and well

So if I got a Python what methods could I use to add the dechlor?
Also is there a shut off at the tank so I dont' have to run to the tap to stop the water flow.
Basically i'm not 100% sure how they work any help would be great before I go and spend more $
Thanks guys :)

Ok so you treat for the whole Gallon ammount that the tank holds then add a little here and there just to be sure?

Sorry I just want to be sure because that sounds like a good plan.

So I would treat 55 Gallons then turn on the flow correct..?

I, on the other hand, add my declor to the stream of water while it is coming out of the python and going into the aquarium. I try to spread my capfuls out, so I'm adding the last capful when I only have about an inch of water left to fill.

I resivoir my water. Put it in a bucket that holds 5 gallons. dechlor. Add to tank. Takes a little while but im not wasting the dechlor on water that doesnt have chlorine in it.

I don't know, but Petsmart.com has the Python 25ft for USD$23. Much less expensive. Although you might have to check what shipping in Canada costs (or take the ad to Petsmart to match).

If you use a concentrated dechlor like Prime you don't waste much at all. One capful treats about 50-60 gallons. You still waste some, but the bottle lasts along time.
