Today, I bought a used 110 gallon tank from the a stranger from the classfieds...I bought the tank but I was so scared being in his home..I thought he was going to kill me or something and I might end up dead...I might be watching too much movies or something but I was just so scared..I guess i do not trust strangers..Its wierd thou..I feel guilty that I felt that way and I am safe but I just had a very bad feeling being in his home..

He was about to give me a lot of free fishes but I did not take them..I just wanted to be out the door..

I was wondering do you feel the same way when you go to a stranger's home to buy something or am I just paranoid?

Do you really bring your friend? It is bad enough when you go to a stranger's home and he closes the door..I thought i was going into a murder's home..But yea, I was shaking and he was about to give me a lot of free fish but I was shaking to just leave..I even told him, I did not want to be in his house when I first met him..I feel guilty I felt that way and I guess he knew it too..I guess I am watching too many horror moves or reading things about people being lured in by classfied ads and are not seen the next day..

i'm not afraid to enter a strangers home, I just keep my eye out.

way to make this thread before i go over and look at a stand at somone's house...i wasnt afraid but i am now lol.i usually meet the preson in the parking lot if the item is easily carried, and if they must come in my home(or vice versa) i try to be as quick as possible.

Not really. Where I live (Ohio), we have conceal and carry laws. So you never know who's packing. The person whose house you go to doesn't know if you are armed or not so it evens the playing field a bit. I don't carry. If it's any consolation to you, you are probably more unsafe having someone come to YOUR home and just being in your own home period than going to someone else's house to buy something. I hate others knowing where I live more.

Maybe next time you should set up a meeting in a neutral place, like a secure parking lot for the drop off. :) THat's what I like to do.
