hello, i am somwhat of an aquarium novice. i recently purchased a 90g oak unit which has sump filtration.i am not going to be using the sump system (i know it is far better) but i do not have the time or knowledge for it.
i am going to be using the hang off the back filters and will be plugging the double 2" holes in the corner that were used for the sump system.

i am just wondering the specs for the glass i should use to patch.
the aquarium floor sheet is roughly 1/2" thick. a 6"x6" sheet would adequately overlap both holes by roughly 1" so i was going to go 8x8 to be safe. i however do not know the thickness of glass i need to do this.
most places i phone only have 1/4 thick max, otherwise i would have to buy a full sheet of 3/4-1" thick. Being a full sheet is 4ftx4ft and over $100 its not worth it to me for the 8"x8" i need.do you think 1/2" thick slab is strong enough to withstand the pressure of 90g?

Great idea! That makes the most sense...
