I have a 48 gallon tank with 3 flame tetras, 3 lemon tetras, 4 rummy nose tetras, 6 neon tetras, and 1 angelfish. I was thinking i should take back my 3 lemon and 3 flame tetra and then add a bunch of rummys and neons and then add 1 or 2 more angels. i need someone to tell me if i am going to do the right thing. :help:

Thanks but i talked to my aquarium store cause they have a tank like i do and as long as i get their smaller angels they can live peacefully and they have so far even when they reach full size.

they will start to think of them as food, no matter how long they live together.

you shoudl get rid of the neons and flame tetras (flame tetras can get nippy) and fill out the lemons alot.

two angels and a big school of lemons and perhaps some corydoras in a 48 gallon would look nice.

what if i took out the neons, lemons, and flames and put in another angel which would leave a school of rummys and then two angels and put in a krib cichlid or some other cichlid

;)..angels are one of the more peaceful cichlids. However..its the rule of nature..big fish eats little fish. If it will fit in its mouth, you can consider it fish food. Although this may never happen, the possibility is always there and you will never know until it is to late.

A note about angels:
If you insist on adding more, only add one. If you so happen to get a male and female and they pair, you will end up with an extrremely aggressive tank. The tank itself is not big enough to house a pair of breeding angels and allow room for them to stake there claim on territory without terrorizing the other fish, possibly badly injuring them or killing them.

Personally, I would fill out the flame and lemon tetras, or the rummy nose and lemons, leave it at one angel and add some cories and a couple apple or brig snails.

Its very hard to sex angels until they are mature, and often times you cannot sex them until after they have bred. The rummys and 2 tetras sound OK.

I have no personal experience with rams so I really cant answer that as far as compatibility. Stocking wise think its going to depend on how many rummys and how many rams as well and if you decide to go with 2 angls.

12 rummys and 2 angels is what I would do, as well as adding some cories. Is your tank a high or long? (dimensions)

I would go with one angel, a decent size school of rummys and some cories along with possibly a bristlenose pleco for algae issues. That should fill the tank out nicely.
