so have you guys ever gone to a fabric store craft store and seen the plants they have there fake but much larger and way cheaper than LFS fakes would you guys think they would be cool in a tank i have had some in my ten gallon betta tank and no dyes or paint has come off and they are way more realisic than the LFS ones they just take more to clean what do you guys think yay or nay.?

The question is about fake plants not real plants. Of course, I perfer the real plants over any fake plants but getting back to topic, I would just be careful for pieces of metal or other objects that may decide to seperate from those fake plants and float around in your tank and possiblly mess up your water quality or worse injure your fish.

I did my moms 30 gallon with nothing but silk and plastic plants. They look beautiful and as long as you have a snail or two, cleaning them isn't realy an issue. So that is a yay.

yeah the reason i ask about fakes is i am redoing my tank and would like to have real plants in the middle area of a 45 pentagon tank and the two long sides some silks hanging down but anchored at the bottom just for cover.

Real plants are much, MUCH better than fakes. Although a fake can give a good hiding place/scratching pole for fish. Medal or painted ones should not be used though. :)

the ones that i am looking at have no metal in them at all and i just want a few strands along the back of the tank and some at the top a bit i plan to attain a gang of hatchets for the top and at least 15 neons cruising around with some others in there.
