Today I'm replanting my 5.5g betta tank. I purchased a 18w Coralife mini freshwater light (2 x 9w) to go over it for a bit of a different look.

I'm starting out with just java fern and java moss, with thoughts of adding some floating water sprite or wisteria.

Is this lighting still considered low light for a 5.5g? Not much of a bump from the 14w or 15w of my flourescent fixture.

Thanks in advance!

i would say that medium light. you should be able to add more then the java moss and fern you have in there. might also want to look into excel for co2.

I have Excel :) Seems like it really brightened things up, maybe difference in wattage plus CF versus regular lighting.
