hello and happy 2007 to all.

It has been 6 years since I last kept fish and it is only by browsing this site over the holidays that I realised how poorly my 2 poor goldfish were treated over the 6 years I had them (never bothered with cycling, did treat water and made sure they were OK which I guess they were until they died after I introduced a newcomer who had a disease and killed them). I remember running to my local petstore in distress and them coming to inspect the tank and tell me it was too late. I could not face replacing them after this...

So my husband got me a new tank (one of those baby Biorb 14L ones) for Christmas - I am feeling quite excited at the prospect of setting it all up and am currently in the process of cycling fllowing all the good advice given here. I am just concerned about what fish to go for fo a tank this size (small!). Could you advise me? The tank has a heater so I was thinking about a tropical fish but I am at a loss as to which small fish would happily live in this small environment?

Thanks for you help!

Hi,

For your 14L tank (about four or five gallons) you could get a Betta, a couple of shrimp, and two African Dwarf Frogs. Unless you get a real mean betta, that stcking should be fine.

Hope that helps!
