Cherry Bards being nasty

I am after abit of advice my cherry barbs kepping picking on the two mollies that i have. Does anyone know if this is normal.

We'll need to know a few things before answering but my first guess is you'll need more barbs to settle them.
How many barbs do you currently have?
How many Mollies? How long have you had each?
How long has the tank been set up?
How big is the tank?

Frist tank so its onlya tiny 30litres. All fish we got on Saturday.

There is

2 balloon mollies
4 platies
6 cherry barbs.

ok, so we're talking 7-8 gallons. Adding any more fish would be a big mistake. What's going on is these barbs are fighting over territory due to the small tank. You are prbably also experiencing high bio-loads, further stressing the fish out as I assume your tank wasn't cycled. Have you read the cycling stickies? Do you have any plans on getting a bigger tank?

Way too many fish in there. The Mollies alone will get to 3-4 inches and if you have a male and female....babies. I have not kept Cherry Barbs or Platys but thats a small tank to have any swimming room.
