Hello, I have a 150 gallon tank, using #2 AquaClear 500 filters.
I clean them once a week and getting the feeling that its too much.
It's a bare tank with #2 Black Arowanas.
Need help, Thanks :)

Well, I'll answer assuming you know that there could be big problems in the future with 2 black arowanas in a 150. Depending on size and feeding they'll produce a lot of waste, so I would clean them 1-2 times per month (just squeeze out the sponges).

Yeah, I'm planning on getting a 220G when they get bigger.
Thanks for your help :)

Do you have any pix? I've never seen 2 blacks get along in the same tank:)
(sorry I'm drifting slightly off topic)

i clean my impellers every couple of months to remove any gunk that may be slowing it down. filter pads probably every couple of weeks.
You could try cleaning one each week if you are worried. But if you clean them both and the water tests fine 24 hours later then you haven't lost a significant amount of bacteria.
