Hey
I have one last question before I stock my 46g Bow(12"deep 20"high 38"long). I have an AquaClear 500, driftwood , and a ph of 7.0. I am going to cycle the tank with BioSpira which i should be getting tomorrow and I was wondering if this would work.
1-Angel
4-Bolivian Rams
8-harlequins
2- pitbull or bristlenose plecos
Thanks

That doesn't sound too bad to me but I would replace the pleco's with a school of corydoras. I don't know much about plecos so that might just be personal preference.

The bristlenose plecos will be fine in the 46. You can also have the cories too.The plecos will only reach around five inches each and they will take care of the algae in the tank. For this reason you should probably wait on the plecos until there is sufficient algae present in the tank which should take about eight weeks. The cories will eat any leftover food that the other fish do not eat. They are a great clean up crew. Depending on the ones that you get will depend on how many to get. I would suggest that you get at least three cories since they are very social little creatures and perfer to be in groups. The panda cories stay small and are really cute if you are looking for a suggestion.

Thanks a ton for the suggestions. Do you think it'd be ok to get 5 or 6 panda cories instead of the plecos I have this weird thing when I look to the schools numbers compared to eachother and i don't know its weird.
Thanks again

Yes, that would be fine. Cory's do much better in groups - The more the merrier!

That will be fine as long as you do not have to worry about the presence of algae.Just keep in mind that cories do not eat algae. I do agree that the more cories you have the better it is for them.

Thanks a ton all. I'm fine with swipin the algae myself so I'll get more cories then thanks again.

Hey...again
I just bought a liquid master test kit because I had quick dip test strip and saw how horrible they are. I had said that my ph has been steady at 7 its been at 8 and the bolivian rams and angels i have read need soft acidic water so now I have my BioSpira and no clue what fish I'm going to get.I have two large pieces of driftwood so i figured that my ph test was right before but i guess not and I would go malawi but then I'd have to redo my decor:(. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks[/I]

Most fish should be able to adjust to the change of pH. I also have a relatively high pH and my juvenile angels have adjusted fine and are living quite happily in my tank!

Hey
Thanks for the info. I don't think that angels are gonna be right for my tank though after reading how they thrive so much better in acidic water. I was working on a new plan and It'd be cool for some suggestions3x Dojo loaches
6x Panda Cories
8x Rummynose tetras
6x Emperor or Black Skirt tetras
3x Dojo Loaches
this seems like it may be overstocked but im not good at that an I would keep the temp. in the lower 70's anyone suggestion or corrections would be erally nice
Thanks again
