Hi guys,

I am currently saving for a 96"Lx24"wx30"H maybe 36"w tank which will free up my 6ft which measures 72"Lx24"Wx30"H. I was just wondering on what your view was on having a Saratoga Jardini in a 6ft with 3 (maybe 5) Oscars and a Sailfin Pleco. I have asked a few fish stores and they said its Ok but I tend not to trust fish stores.

I know that they commanly grow to about 40-50cms (upto 1m though) which will give it room to turn round. So do you think that this tank will be suffient size or should I just forget it (BTW the 8ft is not an option as fish from 3 different tanks will go in it)

Thanks, Nova 8

All those oscars put the tank on overstock. How about 2 instead of 5? The adult size and the heavy waste production of oscars, plus pleco, plus arrow just kinda seems like it's going to be crowded.

I would go for it minus the oscars. Aussie arowanas are the most aggressive, and when they hit 12-14" usually turn into pure killers. Oscars wouldnt stand much of a chance with a big Jardini. They do have the capability to outgrow that tank, but it's not common.

If you check out the arowana forum at www.monsterfishkeepers.com, there is a sticky on jardini compatibility. There are a ton of arowana keepers there if you want to go pick their brain:) I'll be there too lol.
