My filter has been humming after I turn the filter back on for my weekly water change. It's been the holidays, so I haven't been able to take the filter apart. My tank is in my bedroom, so I had to do something.

The last time I did this, I took the HOB off the back of the tank, but I thought I should try to leave the big part of the filter on the back of the tank this time.

I took a peek and I saw something in with my propeller. I have this fear of taking the filter apart and not being able to put it back together. I was worried but I gave it a whirl.

There was a piece of plant in there with the propeller. Yikes!!!

The nitrates are at 20 and my ammonia is at zero. Close one! The water was still flowing, but after I cranked it back on, I noticed all of these things floating in the intake valve. Oops. The humming has stopped.

:duh:

that happens all the time in my map turtles tank with my marine land WF filter just have to clean it more often and check those impellers
