how much is to much lighting. RIght now i have a 10 gallon tank with a 96 watt power compact light on it which obviously means i'm getting 9.6 watts per gallon. Is this too much. I just recently got hairy mushrooms and they were doing fine but now they don't spread out as much as they used to. IS this because of lighting or what. I have them in good position with good flow and my water is pretty good. I don't know can someone give me some help.

You would need a huge amount of light to even get close to matching the light that the corals have in the ocean, so, very rarily can you have too much light.

It is most likely the increase in light wich caused the mushrooms to not expand as much, becuase they don't need to expand as much too get the same amount of light. It isn't causing harm to your corals in any way, actually it's to the benifit of your corals.

THanks alot do you think that they will eventually fully expand because i've heard that mushrooms are a good beginner coral and that's exactly what i am.
