For anyone that has one of these filters does it ever appear that one side is moving more water than the other? As i look as mine it seems the water coming out of the right side is moving much faster than the right side. Both bio-wheels are spinning at pretty much the same pace. I have made sure everything is connected correctly and the impeller is not clogged or anything. If anyone experiences this or knows how to fix it i would love some feedback.

Usually that happens on mine when a)the filters are unevenly clogged with muck, or b)the piece that sprays water onto the biowheel has become clogged with algae on one side.

Yes, I had an EMP 400 for years. After a few years I took my spray bars out and cleaned the insides very good. They can become clogged with alge and residue from salt and other minerals. I had to use a toothpick to clean the holes out every month or so. Once the filter pads become clogged good you will notice a change in waterflow. Water will always take the path of least resistance, there is nothing in the filter to direct the water to one side or the other so....
