Python- Saltwater to fresh?

I'm setting up my freshwater tank soon and was wondering if I could use the same Python that I use for my saltwater tank to do the water changes on the freshwater one?

Should I run warm water through it first or do something else beforehand, or would it just be better to get a separate Python for the fresh water?
