i have these small snails in one of my small tanks that i guess came in with the plants. do they eat algae because all they are doing is going to the bathroom all over the place. i have been removing as many as i can, but there are still some in there.:dance2:

most likely hitchhiked on the plants, they do eat algae as well as any organic waste you have in the tank. IMO they are pretty beneficial when kept under control. remove them if you want, and don't overfeed if you don't want a bunch of them.

but they leave a WHOLE bunch of crap around the tank

i guess i dont, but it always looks like snail droppings and not fish droppings. its real small and thin.
