I was reading that some people use pot scrubbers? Do they actually work??I have a big aquaclear filter and dont want to spend money on it..
Can pot scrubbers be used as bio media for a big aquaclear powerfilter??

They have more surface area than bioballs, so they are in fact a good bio media.
Stuff them into that AquaClear. Maybe put a little floss at the bottom for mechanical filtration as well.
