I've decided to take an old acrylic aquarium and convert it into an aqua-terrarium. Since the aquarium was already drilled, I will need to glue some glass over the holes; I'll also have to glue a sheet of glass to serve as the dam between land and water.

After reading that acrylic glue is highly toxic, I would prefer not to use it. Right now I'm looking at a product on Doctors Foster and Smith:

Do you think this glue would work with an acrylic tank?

No that is not the glue I would use. There are 2 ways that you can go about doing this. One is better than the other. We will start with the better Way first.

The best way is to get a pice of acrylic to weld onto the acrylic tank. Acrylic welds better to acrylic then glass to acrylic. If you want to do this you can get a small piece of acrylic on ebay or somthing that is where i get mine and use a product called weld on # 4. This will weld the 2 pieces together.

The second way is the way that you would do it is put a piece of glass over the hole and glue it to the acrylic. The reason why the first way is better is that glue does not stick the same to acrylic and glass. (It will work just make sure you use plenty of glue and ruough up the surface of the acrylic where you are gluing). To glue this way with glass to acrylic, use

hope that helps
