I have the same question about Amazon swords. Just thought I'd post here because I figure that since both are swords, they are probably similar in reproduction.

Most commonly, swordplants reproduce by a flower stem/spike from the center of the plant. These are commonly caller runners on the boards, but they are not. When the plant is submerse, the spike will bear baby plants rather than flowers. It is best to keep this spike underwater, but it does snap easily, so do not bend it too hard. The plantlets can be removed and planted independently once they have good roots (several, 2-3" long). Some swords will divide at the crown into two or more plants, and these can be separated by sharp knife and planted indepently - but replanting swords is a bit messy. The plantlets are much easier to wonk with.
