I have a few questions about breeding bettas.

First off, can anyone point me toward a few websites about it?
Second, do they give live birth, lay eggs without really mating and hope any male is there to fertalize them, or lay them fertalized? Please explain that to me because I have eggs on my filter and am not sure what they are from.
Third, how long are they pregnant?
Fourth, what is the process of breeding?
When will you be able to see the frys true colors?

Thanks. :)

meyerhaus, that site is being updated. It has no info whatsoever. But thanks anyway

Yikes...too bad. Here are general answers to your questions:
do they give live birth, lay eggs without really mating and hope any male is there to fertalize them, or lay them fertalized?
They lay eggs. There is a very interesting ritual. The male will blow a bubblenest at the top of the aquarium, sometimes these can be VERY thick. After a very interesting mating ritual (involving some sparring) they will "make eggs." The female then should be removed and the male will tend the eggs and nest. He blows the eggs up into the nest when they fall down and will blow more bubbles into the nest if needed.
Third, how long are they pregnant?
The eggs will turn into wigglers after a couple of days.
When will you be able to see the frys true colors?
Some bettas colors will change through their adulthood (marbles), but you can really start to see coloration around 2-3 months of age.
