How many goldfish can a 55 gal hold?

Looks like im sticking with 3. I saw a cute ranchuu and was thinking about getting it.

I have a cupon for $25..I wanted a fish like this...guess I dont have room

yeah, I wouldn't try it. once they get about 6-7 inches each you'll se you've got enough in there with them.
 
Is it because there is not enough room or because of how much wast they will leave. I did get a snail..dont know if that matters.

a little of both. they do matter, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.
 
Getting another goldfish is out. I have $25 of store credit that can only be used to buy fish. Any suggestions on what to get. These are going in the 55 with the 3 fancy goldfish.
