I t was given to me and the in let piece was broken off. The inliet piece is was plastic and supplied the incoming water with bubbles. I decided to do a DIY and you hosing and glue that is fine for aquatic animals. All seems to be working fine, it is just that the cup is filling up very fast and the water is more clear. I thought it was supposesd to be green. Is this a problem or has anyone had any experience witht this? I see the bubbules overflowing into the cup. ALso on the left part of the skimmer their was bio media filter strings. Like bio-balls. I have a reef and this is bad beacuase I am trying to get rid of high NItrates. DO you think this is the problem becuase there is nothing there. I am going to put cheto there but I havent gotten time to get to the store where they sell it. So what do you guys think, Thanks

With the bakpak, the collection cup can be moved up or down to determine the collection rate. Try moving the cup up, so that the bottom is about 1/8 to 1/4" in the water.

Taking out the biobale should not affect what goes into the collection cup, but taking it out may cause more bubbles to go back into the tank. CPR makes a bubble trap that goes into that second chamber if you are having trouble with microbubbles in the tank.

Chaeto might work in that chamber, but it's a rather small area, and you will need some way of lighting it.
