I'm building a turtle tank, 4'x4'x20"

it will have a 3'x4'swimming area and a 1'x4' land area

anyways

the water will be 8 inches deep

so...I plan on just using wood for the entire thing so that the turtale can be viewed from above

what are your suggestions for sealing the wood so that the water won't leak out

epoxy, my friend and lots of it. you may even want to fiberglass tape the seams and epoxy coat them. it might be cheaper to go with a rubber liner, but i'm not sure.

excellent idea, I've never thought of a rubber liner

A rubber liner would be far cheaper. Find it at pretty much and landscaping store. They use it for outdoor ponds and such.

just make sure that you get one that is 'fish safe' and doesn't contain harmful chemicals that can leech out into the water.
