I have 2 55 gallon aquariums in my house. One is freshwater and it's been set up for about 5 years with these fish. Yes, these fish are 5 years old! As you can see, this tank is pretty full. If I change anything, it will be to upgrade the tank and plant some live plants. I have a silver dollar though, and I've heard they like the taste of live plants.

Then, about 3 weeks ago I came across a deal I couldn't refuse. A 55g reef tank already set up with 4 fish in it. So this is my latest adventure, I purchased some more damsels 2 weeks ago, a starfish, an urchin and a scallop. I've found that I favor the inverts. So, here's a couple pictures of my newest setup. I'm planning to get a sea fan and a sponge also and maybe another star.

Awsome, i keep browsing the local clasifieds hopeing to find someone who has a reef tank there looking to get rid of.

It came with a friends house when she bought it. She didn't feel the fish love so she sold it to me for $300, I didn't think it was a bad deal at all! I can't wait to do some more with it.

wow, $300. Idrop that on the spot for a set up like yours. One of these days i'll try salt water. I've always wanted too, but keep hearing about how much harder it is and that its so much more delicate, so who knows. Love the pics tho.

love the tanks Esp the severum there1

So far I haven't found it to be that much harder then freshwater. I try to be more attentive to how the fish are acting though, that's mostly because it's new to me though.

Don't you love a bargain? I bought a 55 with lighted hood for 50 bucks from a friend at work. I love the tanks, especially interested in a salt water too! One of these days when I don't have my kids colleges to pay for I will!!!!!

Thanks for posting.
