Well, I'll be getting a German Blue Ram pretty soon to add to my tank. Through some research, I've found that Blue Rams are very sensitive to both the cleanness and the pH of the water. It says their pH should be 6.5, but my tapwater's pH is 7.8!

Will this be a problem? Even if I acclimate them to the tank, will they suffer? I have a discus buffer that lowers the pH, but I know that this can cause dangerous pH fluctuations within the tank and that will cause more harm than good.

What should I do?

Thanks!

leave the PH alone, most rams sold in your area are in the same water. Most LFS wont bother with a RO system or try to buffer it. they will adapt, just acclimate them slowly and you will be fine
