Eheim canister owners please help - missing part?

Hi all. I have an Eheim Pro II 2026 that I got used. There is a little site glass type thing that lets you see how much water pressure is going through the unit. There is supposed to be a little ball or something that goes up or down on the site? Anyway I was cleaning out the whole unit and took the red cylinder and spring out to clean in therwe site housing and I think I might have lost the little ball (if there even was one). The pic below shows what parts I have. Do I still need a little ball or something? Seems when I put the spring back in, there is not prsssure on the spring, as if some part is missing? Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

I have the manual I just can't twell from the parts list if I missing something. As it does not go into a ton of detail of the parts shown.
 
the little white ball is a 'check valve' and needs to be there for the filter to work properly.
 
I don't believe you are missing anything. I have two 2028 filters. One has the ball, and the other has the red cylinder shown in your picture. FYI the newer one I bought came with the red cylinder.
 
really? ALL 5 of my Eheim 2028's have that white ball. maybe yours is newer?
 
Ah so the consensus seems to be that the 2026/2028 either has a ball or the red cylinder but not both?
