Although I was not interested in buying one, I was looking at an Aqua Tech filter at walmart and I noticed that in very small print on the bottom of the box it says manufactured by marineland. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I had not noticed it, but it doesn't surprise me. Many manufacturers sell their product, indentical in construction, with different labeling and names. Occasionally they may change the quality of a particular part or the warranty offered.

I think marineland also makes the regent products at wallmart. I have some of there carbon in the exact same container as marineland premium blah blah carbon even the labels are quite similar.

i google it and saw people saying the aquatech 30-60 is actually just a penguin 330 without the bio-wheels. normally i worry about buying stuff like that from walmart. so much of there stuff is low quality but i would try it out.

I bought an aqua tech 5-15 in an emergency situation. Then the filter it was replacing got fixed (because I learned how to "prime" the "broken" one...). I was left with an unused filter... so I used it as an excuse to get another aquarium :) and now have a 6 gal and a 10
Oh, and the aqua tech is working fine, as far as I can tell. All the fish look/act happy.

I have the aqua-tech 20-40, and it is exactly the same as the bio-wheel filter, only without the wheel. I got some spare parts from a friend and the bio-wheel fit perfectly.
Also the aqua-tech aquarium kits are exactly the same as eclipse systems, the only difference being that they are 20 bucks cheaper.

I recently bought the aqua-tech hex, exactly the same as the eclipse 5G hex except it come with an incandescent lightbulb instead of a CF like the eclipse does. it's also about $40 cheaper.

I buy the cheaper aqua-tech filter cartridges and put them in my penguin minis. Same design, just one has a bio wheel and the other a bio filter pad

I had a Regent 20 gallon HOB filter from Wal-Mart. I used it for more years than I can remeber. It was a great little filter. The only reason I got rid of it is because I am upgrading my tanks and needed something larger. I love Wal-Marts pricing!

walmart filters suck
The Aqua-Tech C filter pads are the exact same pads as my penguin 350, down to the part number on the plastic molding. They are also half the price :D

I like those Aquatech filters.. they're dirt cheap and because it's walmart, if it ever breaks you just take it back.. even if you have had it for 6+ months.
and the replacement filters are also really really inexpensive.
walmart filters suck
Yes they do. Got to Petsmart online and print out the price of an Aquaclear filter in the size you need. You will get a huge discount at your local petsmart, and a much better filter.
