I just recently bought a liquid Test kit as the strips suck.
my ratings for my 5gallon
Ph - 7.6 (could be higher as it says max is 7.6)
Ph High Range - 8.0
Ammonia - 0ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
Nitrate - 10ppm
These look ok.
anyway to get the PH down maybe to 7.2?
Water changes?

Your pH is fine right where it is. The water changes shouldn't affect it, like they will with nitrates.
A stable pH is better than one that is being adjusted with additives or chemicals.

well the master test kit said a 7.6 color could mean the PH is higher
could this be the case or does the high ph test catch that?

The standard PH test only test up to 7.6. Hence the need for the high range.
Your PH is 8.0. You are probably fine unless you have some especially sensitive fish.

i agree. messing with the ph will just cause more harm. most fish can adapt to a higher or lower ph.
