the easiest DIY way is jsut letting it sit out or airating(sp?) it over night, but this only works if you have chlorine. But i don't see a problem with using bought products, they don't cost too much. I use prime and it costs 8$ and last a very long time, even with me using it on 4 tanks.

i thought i heard someone on this board say that you can buy a cheaper chlorine remover (i already knew about leaving it out for a while) but i just want an easier way to change water in my 125g...

Sodium thiosulfate is available in crystal form. Photographer or winemaker suppliers. You make up a stock solution with distilled water and use it with an eye dropper. The smallest bottle of sodium thiosulfate crystals will last you a lifetime,* even if you give bottles of the stock solution to all your friends.
*well at least it would last me a lifetime...

Check out FishyFarmacy (http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/). They sell sodium thiosulfate in 4 oz. bottles, which mixes to make 1 gallon of dechlorinator. Costs less than ten bucks and will last a long, long time. Works on water with chloramine, too, at double dose.
I like getting this because it's premeasured and includes dosing instructions. You don't have worry you're over- or under-dosing your water. I'm on my second batch and the stuff works well.
