gotta ques? i was just wondering, if there was any way to add driftwood found at the ocean, to be put in a frreshwater aquarium?? is there a process that i could do? or is the salt contained in it too much??? any help greatly appreciated!

i would definitely boil it/soak in very hot near boiling water to kill any parasites, bad bacteria, and little critters that are hiding in it. then soak it in a big bucket with freshwater (change it every day or two) for a week or two to allow salt to leach out of it and also to give all those now-dead critters time to decompose and go away rather than adding ammonia to the tank.
just to add... make sure the area you get it from is known to be clean water.
