wtf are these green bugs?

they are wormlike things. they have a dark head and a green segmented body (like 5-8 segments). they are about 2/5 of a centimeter long. i found the first one in the middle of the water and the rest are at the surface. they move around by twitching (they dont swim they just jerk around) my tank is 10g and there are about 10 of them...

Insect larvae? Have they hitchhiked on plants? Are your windows open?

i forgot to mention that i have insects always landing in that tank... it only have shrimp in it right now, i was going to put a few mosquito fish in it, but i have soem shrimp (no idea what kind) that have eggs and i dont want the baby shrimp to be eaten... i think it could be insect larvae tho'.... thanks for the reply
