I have a 37 gallon tank with P Saulosi. 2 Aquaclear HOB rated for 50 gallons each so over filtered which is good but there is not much surface movement.

I bought an Aquaclear power head and my 2 largest fish (3 inches each) were sucked into it and killed. I believe this happened because I left the cap on that normally would attach to an UGF tube.

I am very nervous and would really like a brand and size recommendation.

When I had the powerfilter going, the fish avoided it so I don't want a lot of water shooting across the tank, just enough.

Thanks!

if you want a little more surface agitation u could add a noisy air pump with a stone or just not fill your tank so full so the water from the 2 AC's creates more of a splash when it falls from the return. but i would say your tank is probably oxygenated enough but if it makes u feel better u could always use the power head just attach a sponge to the intake to lessen the suction a little bit also. that way you can also add a little more filtration. just a few ideas i hoe it helps u out a little bit.

Agreed slap a sponge over the intake of the power head :)
