Protein Skimmer Question

I'm not sure if my skimmer is set up right. How much discharge into the overflow bottle (per day/week) should there be? Mine is set up so that I can see bubbles coming out the top very slowly, but I rarely have to empty the bottle (a 1 liter V8 bottle, and it never comes close to filling).

Is that about right?

It depnds on the load and how long the tank has been setup..How long as the system been running and what stock do you have in there?

I empty mine about twice per week..

Look man to be honest my protien skimmer only has to be emptied about once every 2 months. And the only reason i empty it is because i pull it out for a cleaning. if i didnt have to clean the stuff from time to time then i would just leave it in there until it was full but it never gets more than maybe 1/4 inch of gunk in there.
