Here is my 24 gallon Nano tank. I have had it up now for 1 year, and we have gone through immense learning together. I bought all the corals as single pieces or new born corals to save money. I never paid more then $15 for a single coral in this tank. Although I am sure that it wont be the case for my 90 gallon tank that is my work in progress.

The Caulerpa that you see growing in the lower right corner is my experiment to help with the phosphates and nitrates in this small thank and worked well. Only problem is ever 3 days i have to trim it back because it grows so fast. This will be trasnfered into my refugium for mu 90 gallon so it wont be in the msin tank anymore.

Any suggestions?

wow. thats beautiful.

I love nano tanks- yours is absolutely gorgeous.

What is that black and white little fish in there?

I have to agree, it looks stunning...A quick question...After how long of having the macro algae in there did you notice a difference to your water?..Just interested really in having it in the display tank..I have offten concidered putting some in a little stocking sack in the display, in a descrete area, hidden mainly from view...

Thanks for the compliments guys its been a rough ride on the learning curve but i am getting there now lol.

5xevy the answer is.. The Black and white fish is my Cardinal fish. He is always in the open and not shy ant all. He also gets along with everyone very well.

And to atnixon, I noticed a difference in about 2 - 4 weeks. It grows fast but its kind of cool. If you look up close to it you can see a bristle worm or 2 in the bunch and some other cool little things.

wow your tank looks fantastic!!
that's what i'm aiming for with my nano :)
well, on a smaller scale lol

mikelush- I happened to see some Cardinal fish today in my LFS. They were all hanging out- literally, as if floating in mid-air, not moving, just "sitting" there. Are yours active? Do they school? They're really interesting looking.

I just read that they're semi-aggressive. How is the one in your tank? I'm looking to get more fish in mine.

:)

the tank is awsome! one of the better nanos ive seen good job you have achieved in what countless numbers of my customers have failed at congrats!
the bangai or hi-fin cardinals can become territorial over about a year or two it depends on the fish itself. mine is a bit touchy over his space. they will spawn in home aquariums if they are the dominant fish and long spine urchins are present i have breed them at my work. they should be kept in pairs but if you get them young you can school them in a 300+ gallon aquarium. ive been trying to establish a school in the 500 gallon reef i service but they end up beating each other so single or a mated pair are best. as for the macro algae i use it in my refugum and it keeps the phosphates well in check. its natural free and easy to maintain. look to nature! it has million years on us!

My Cardinal fish is not aggressive at all and he is always out in plain view, never hiding at all. He swims different then other fish he kind of glides so no he does not move around as much as my clown but he is always visible.

And thanks for the Compliments guys... Its been a long battle but now that i have gotten the 24 gallon nano under control my 90 gallon with sump and refugium should be a piece of cake :)
