Does anyone know of any literature that goes into detail about invertabrates? I would like something that covers the biology, life cycles, habits, and nutritional requirements of marine invertabrate animals.

Julian Sprung's Invertebrates covers alot of species pretty well, with lots of nice pictures. The guys that did Scott Michael's Marine Fish book put out one on inverts. It's in the same format. I haven't checked it out yet, but it looks good. And then Reef Life, by I can't remember who (it's a husband-wife team) goes into natural behaviors really well.

I don't think Michaels (or whoever did it) Invertebrates book is out yet. I know it made a short run last year but they sold so many books but didn't have the supply so took it off and were supposed to put it up for sale again early 2003. Another thing that is highly anticipated in early 2003 is Reef Fish Volume Two, which will hopefully cover Angels, Bflys, Gobies, Tangs and Triggers. As to Corals the Reef Life book is amazing (I also don't know who did it, but am pretty sure is manufactured by TFH). An even better book on Corals is Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman (who participates over at www.reefcentral.com ). Another one is Marine Reef Aquarium Handbook by Dr. Robert J. Goldstein (by Barrons). Hope this helps.

Yes, that does help, thanks. I was having very little luck finding anything worthwhile. There are lots of books out there that touch on the topic but do not come anywhere close to telling me what I want to know.

There is also a new book on Inverts coming out soon (May 03 ?) from Fenner, Calfo, and Pro - I think its still avail for preorder at www.wetwebmedia.com - the sample chapters look good, and I've enjoyed the prior work of those authors, so I'm signed up for it already...
I don't know yet how close it will be to the info your looking for though...
