Came home today to find this strange, "fuzzy," stringy thing hanging from my gourami. Have never seen anything like it. What the heck? It was about three inches and came off on it's own???? Is it fecal matter???

That's what my wife thought too...never heard or read of anything like it. When I got the substance out, it was very jelly-like and had little pieces of matter the same color as the fish on the inside of the clear goo. Strange.
Actually I do not, but I'm going to do a water change and treat the tank with quick cure and see what happens.
make sure that it is not an anti-biotic, as they will destroy the benificial bacteria in your tank. you were right in wanting to treat the whole tank because chances are the rest of the fish have it to. there are other meds like CopperSafe
Yes, I've used it before and it doesn't kill the beneficial stuff. Hopefully all will be well. Thanks for your time!
