Hello,

I am pretty new to the aquarium hobby but have been learning all that I can in order to keep my fish happy and healthy. I have a 29 gallon tank that has been setup for almost 4 months that has been doing very well. I also have a 10 Gallon tank that I will begin fishless cycling tomorrow.

The problem I have is that I now have essentially a peaceful community tank with my 29 gallon except for one albino rainbow shark that harasses some of my other fish. I would like to between the 29 and 10 gallon have 1 tank that is community and 1 that is semi aggressive. Can anyone help me figure out how to split the fish up so that I can maybe do the 29 gallon over as a semi aggressive tank.

The fish I have are:
1 Albino rainbow
1 upside down cat
1 cory cat
1 rubber lip pleco
3 black tetra's

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

You have too many peaceful fish to go in the 10 gallon (and the Rainbow Shark will deffiantley not fit). So I would suggest to return the shark.

If you do return him, you NEED to get at least two more Cories. They are very social fish and should be kept in groups.

After that get a couple more Upside-Down Catfish. They like to be in groups too.

You could also add 10 Cardinal or Neon Tetras.

Good luck!

I asked the LFS to take him back and offered him to employees who had semi aggressive tanks to take him for free. They would not take him back and I didn't get any calls to drop him off for any employees. So I think i'm stuck with him.

Hi,

Do you just have one pet store in your area? Because most pet stores will take a free fish that looks healthy.

If not, you could try Craiglist or the news paper.
