Hi guys (from the UK) :help:

We have been browsing your forum and you have loads of info and we appreciate all the help we can get.
We have a Trigon 190, set up for marine, been running with internal filter and external Eheim filter for two weeks now. Added cured live rock last week, have lots of coraline algae few bristle worms, tube worms, snails and lots of little shrimpy things.. all doing well, we also had a Scutus elephant snail as a hitchiker. We've left him in as he seems to be eating the algae from the glass and not harming anything.

We have a couple of questions if anyone can help?

Is this snail ok to keep, we like him!! we are thinking of getting hermits eventually and hope that they won't clash??

Also water is stable for the last week

PH 8.0
Nitrite 0.2 down to 0 now
SG 1023
Ammonia 0

LFS says it's ok to add a fish as the water is ok, we are limited to the amount of fish due to the size of the tank and didn't want to add something at the start that is not on our wish list just to get the tank cycling, so really wanted to know other than a Chromis/Damsel what would be a good 1st fish to put in.

Thanks in advance for your advice guys

Welcome to the forum! You might get better answers to your questions, if you posted then in the saltwater area! Good luck, and again, welcome!

thanks

Ok I'll give that try thanks for the advice

Being that your LR was cured......you shouldn't have much of a cycle at all unless you get some die off from the rock from the move...which may happen, but shouldn't cause much of an issue

I'd wait on the fish for a bit, just to let the tank settle in....keep an eye on the parameters to see just what your tank is doing...from one water change to another and such.......try not to rush putting in the fish...haha...hard to do I know, but it certainly won't help to wait a bit.

You could add more inverts if you feel the urge to toss something in there...that does help to quell the urge, if only just a bit....lol

Welcome to AC!

LFS said everything ok

Hi guys

thanks for all your replies..

LFS said all ok to add a couple of clown fish as our LR was cured already. Water is still stable.. so we added 2 percula clowns on Saturday. They stayed together for a while, then sulked in opposite corners for a day, tried them on live shrimp, were not really interested, went onto frozen, much happier now!! they've started to get a little more adventurous, they do seem to like the corners though, but today they are swimming behind the LV investigating their surroundings and are quite little characters and very comical.

Water is still stable after 4 days.

PH 8.0 LFS said this ok. we are due a water change so will monitor it
Nitrite 0.2
Nitrate 0.5
Ammonia 0
SG has stayed at 1023

hope all stays well...
